Our Story
Where It All Began
Calvary Community Church was started many years ago on The Campground in Conyers, Georgia — founded by the Walden family along with thousands throughout the world. The church has seen mighty miracles of God and has been a regular fixture for residents of Rockdale County from all walks of life, at all stages of life.
We stand on THE WORD OF GOD. We support each other, our nation, and stand proudly for our first responders and military. We are not fancy; we just love God. Our door is always open — whether you are looking to talk, need prayer, or are ready to call this your church home.

Pastoral & Crisis Counseling
We offer Pastoral and Crisis Counseling services. Pastor Walden is certified by the GA Board of Counselors & Therapists, FEMA, VA, and the Department of Defense — bringing professional care alongside spiritual support.
Honoring First Responders & Military
We are a Military Chaplains Association Veteran Friendly Congregation. We stand proudly for our first responders, military, and their families — in prayer and in service.

Our Statement of Faith
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God — our ultimate authority for faith and life.
The Trinity
We believe in one God in three entities — Father, Son, and Holy Ghost — and these three are one.
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone — His death, burial, and resurrection.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit, including His gifts and power available to every believer.
The Church
We believe the local church is God's primary vehicle for making disciples and advancing His Kingdom on earth.
The Return of Christ
We believe in the literal, physical return of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of the dead.

Senior Pastor
Pastor Dr. James T. Walden Sr.
Pastor Tim Walden has been ordained over 43 years as a Pastor, Certified Chaplain, and Musician. He is a graduate of Liberty University with a Doctoral Degree in Theology / Law Enforcement Crisis Counseling, and also holds an MA in Divinity, a BA in Pastoral Ministry, and an AA in Mortuary Science. Pastor Walden is certified by the GA Board of Counselors & Therapists, FEMA, VA, Department of Defense, National Sheriffs Association, and serves as a Certified First Responder Chaplain and Military Chaplain with PTSD training. Calvary is a Military Chaplains Association Veteran Friendly Congregation.
